Cannabodiol (CBD) is one of 113 identified active chemical compounds of the Cannabis plant (cannabiniods).

CBD is generally extracted from flower, leaves, stems and stalks of industrial hemp plants. Hemp Oil is extracted from Hemp seeds. Hemp Oil is generally devoid of any CBD, but it is a great source of Omega-3 & Omega-6 fatty acids. Hemp Oil is mostly used for nutrition and does not contain the phytocannabinoids that help in homeostasis.

Cannabinoids is a term used to describe various chemical compounds that are found in both Cannabis and Hemp. There are many types of cannabinoids (CBD is one of many), each one has different function that affects the body in a particular way.

Phytocannabinoids are a specific type of cannabinoid referring to the classification of cannabinoids that occur naturally within all types of cannabis and hemp. These phytocannabinoids are responsible for connecting with the endocannabinoid system and help to maintain homeostasis along with other functions.

The Endocannabinoid System ("ECS") is one of our body’s natural internal systems and vital to our physiological function. This act of keeping the body neutral, is called "Homeostasis," and the endocannabinoid system has a big part to play in this.
